"[This commission] resulted in Spectrum a 4, consisting of three contrasting parts, which premiered yesterday. After an opening movement full of moods and colours almost changing manically, with an at times hammering piano on a sub-surface which radiated nervousness, rest dominated.
The last movement resembled dancing photons, leading into a strong finale. Whoever thought to have found certainty, would find themselves surprised - for example by a compositional technique changing itself - and would soon find the musical course to be different than expected. Intriguing."
